Try resetting your user files as described in the factory reset described in this post: http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-4/FAQ-Troubleshooting-Steps-amp-Known-Issues/m-p/3621199

You won't loose anything. Just make sure to not delete any files  and make a backup.

After renaming, repair your game by clicking on the dots in EA app.

Try on a new game with nothing added back first (start new game). If it works, put back your save game and try again. If it still works, you can start putting stuff back.

  • Options.ini (or just re-set all your settings manually)
  • Tray Folder
  • Screenshots/Videos/Custom music
  • Rest of the save games (leave out slot_00000001.save which is the autosave and no longer needed - if you still have it)
  • Custom content like clothing, hair, skins, make up ....
  • ConfigOverride, if you have your own configuration files.
  • Mods (one by one, making sure they all still work)

The rest does not need putting back, cause they are mostly cache files that recreate or log files that are not needed for the game.

If this doesn't help, do you own laundry day ? Which platform are you playing on ?

    Thanks I will try that!  it does seem to work if I remove the whole mods folder and just start an old save? so its probably in the mods right?

    @crinrict Okay I did what the post said. I came till the point where I put back my own save file of my game. And it is doing it again.. and also crashes.. so its my save filee? thats weird? does this mean i have to start all over with my family? 🫢

    @crinrict No thats not it.. i cannot click on anthing.. I have a video of it when it happens (with still some cc) And yes i saw that there were a lot of bugss with this update and dlc..

    @Hyularix I do think it's the same issue as the others are having.

    I disabled Laundry Day as I saw that you have a laundry machine and the freezing went away.

    Could you try disabling the pack ?

    In the app click on the three dots on the game, then choose properties,. In the large field enter this: -disablepacks:SP13 then start the game.

    LD stuff will be removed once you start the game so make backups.

    @crinrict Okay, I did what you said and Disabled the Laundry pack. I started the game and the same thing happened again after a few minutes. Wierddd.. (Btw, it didn't happen in the first hour of playing the sims after I downloaded the pack. she got pregnant and it happened I think, but im not sure)

    @Hyularix Then I don't know. I let it run for a while and it def froze earlier with the pack.

    I'm passing on your save to a CM so EA can look into it. I do think it's related to the other

    I was having the exact same issue and i was not running any mods at the time, i managed to find that two DLCs the Laundry Pack and the Movie Hangout packs.are causing the problem.

    i deactivated all my dlc and then reactivated each one at a time, the bug went away when i deactivated both those packs and re-occured when reactivated them.

    right now i am running the game without those two DLCs and are having no animation issues, i can interact with other sims and with items.

    @Hyularix I checked your save again cause of someone else that had a bloated save game and I realized yours was over 100 MB as well.

    You have a large amount of households. Do you happen to have a backup of your save from before the patch so you can compare sizes ?

    OK this may help, or not. The game is stuck trying to give the needs commands. I'm doing aspirations on the kids ATM. The response is instantaneous, it's the needs like a shower, or drawing in aspirations that did get stuck. I'm trying to rewards my way out of it on most needs. You can plain disable them too, till this is fixed. Might help others just trying to enjoy the game. Plus is it me, or do needs decay way faster ATM also? Might be lack of response to them instead, but it seems like even after they slept, bam, out of energy the next minute. It all got ridiculous last night. ATM it's like the game is 100% normal. I just don't know. Random things like reloading causing it to get fixed. BTW moving out and into another lot caused the save to be ruined. I had to go to load and recover it. That may have helped the game to run better too I guess.

    @dodesskiy How did moving out and back in ruin your game ?

    do you have multi saves with this issue or are just all the backups that size ?

    I have the same problem! How to fix it?? 

    * don't have the laundry extension.

    @sdeboker How big is your save game ?

    Please describe in your own words what you are seeing in your game exactly.
