Room doesn't register as a Room in Build Mode

I recently decided to remodel a mansion I built. I deleted all the interior walls so I can restructure the rooms. My issue came up after I put up new room (and thus wall) locations and tried to apply wallpaper and flooring. The wallpaper wouldn't apply to the entire room when pressing shift nor would the floors. The wallpaper even applied to parts of the house exterior meaning the build mechanics thinks the wall is entirely on its own... I tried deleting all the floors and then click on the yellow outline to build up the floor that way but the yellow outline to "build floor" doesn't even show. After some finagling, I noticed that the application of flooring and wallpaper seems to follow the old room placements! I tried deleting all the "rooms" back to just the exterior walls, saving the game, and restarting the game, but the issue is still present. How can I get the rooms I build to register as their new room locations????

  • Ok I did what I was trying to avoid but oh well... it *did* work. I just deleted the entire top floor that I was renovating and rebuilt it and now it accepts all the new rooms and registers them all as individual rooms. Annoying to have to rebuild the outside since I had many, many details on it but you do what you gotta do...

  • This issue usually happens because the game still remembers the old room data even after you delete and rebuild walls, so when you try to apply wallpaper, it continues to follow the previous layout instead of the new one. To fix this, instead of manually drawing walls, you should use the Room Tool in Build Mode to redraw each room so the game can properly register the new room boundaries. This method is especially useful for anyone working with Custom Wallpaper Abu Dhabi, where accurate room detection is important for proper interior results. In most cases, recreating rooms forces the game to clear the old layout and correctly detect the new room structure.

  • Okay so the build mechanics seem to be ok with some rooms now but not others. Notice in the screenshot attached the yellow outline - that outline is correct and the room beneath that ceiling is accurately outlined. However, when I go to click in the exact same way the room without the ceiling, the yellow line does not show and instead all it does is notice the wall. I tried going over the existing walls with "new" walls to hopefully make the game mechanics connect the room but it didn't work either. I have no cheats on, either, nor mods.
