Thanks. I have the DM and your previous post is properly showing the output too now 🙂
Yes, all the saves that end in .save and have "copy" after them should load if you remove the "copy" so the filename is Slot_00000034.save for example.
The ones with Ver are backups of the corresponding save file and can be ignored for now. - 2 years ago
This worked for a majority of my saves but for the ones I actually care about they don't seem to be showing up, is there anything else I should do?
- Bluebellflora2 years agoHero+
@Marimushroom
If it's not working for some files it means that the filenames are still in a format the game cannot read. Could you please post a screenshot showing the save files that aren't loading? Please have the Finder view in list mode, it's much easier to read filenames. - 2 years ago
I believe these are the files that are not working, I am not totally sure but I have only played one save file in 2024 so I am assuming these are the right files? Thanks for all your help.

@Marimushroom
Thanks. As previously stated, the files ending Ver are backups and any file with the word copy won’t load. The only actual loadable save file is the first one, Slot_00000033.save - 2 years ago
So I have 43 saves and only about 3 or 4 are showing up they are all named Slot_00000043.save ect. They are all named correctly but only a few show up.
- Bluebellflora2 years agoHero+@Marimushroom
If they are correctly named, and directly in the Sims 4 > saves folder, the game will load them. Without seeing a screenshot of all these saves to check they are correct, and with the file path clearly showing at the bottom of the Finder window, I can’t help you further. - 2 years ago
Here are all the photos of my saves, if you can't help anymore it's fine and I thank you for all your help!
- Bluebellflora2 years agoHero+@Marimushroom
Thanks but where’s the screenshot showing the file path at the bottom of the Finder window?
If you’re not going to remove the unnecessary “copy” from those backups you may as well move them out of the folder to a backup folder, they’re useless and clogging up space. - 2 years ago
I think I did it right? And I also put all the extra saves in a backup folder
- Bluebellflora2 years agoHero+
Much better 🙂 Is the Sims 4 folder directly in the Documents folder or is it in an Electronic Arts folder? You need to click on one of those saves so it's highlighted and then the full file path will show. Please do so then post another screenshot showing the file path.

Yes it is in my electronic arts folder, here is the screenshot!
- Bluebellflora2 years agoHero+@Marimushroom
Thanks! That all looks good. Could it be the WonderfulWhims Mod causing the issue? Does it interfere with saves? I’m guessing it does if it’s in your saves folder and it has a more recent file modified date than your saves. - 2 years ago
I do not think so I just removed it and the rest of the save files still will not show up
- Bluebellflora2 years agoHero+@Marimushroom
There is nothing wrong with the saves files or the folder location so the problem is in your user data somewhere. Move the whole Sims 4 folder to the desktop then launch the game and quit at the main menu. A new Sims 4 folder will have been created. Move one of the saves from the folder you moved to the newly created Sims 4 > saves folder then launch the game. Can you load the game? - 2 years ago
Yes, I just did that and I was able to load the game. Then I put the most recent save I created on this computer and it loaded into the game. The one save I want from my old Mac is still not showing up, and it is in my saves folder.

@Marimushroom
Can you upload the save that isn't loading to a file sharing site and DM me the link? I can test in my game. - Bluebellflora2 years agoHero+
Thanks for the save 🙂
It happily loaded into my game:
So I would guess your CC/Mods are interfering. Moving your thread to the Mod issues forum.

Hi @Marimushroom Given that you had a mod in the wrong folder, this is probably time to go through your mods and make sure they're all in the right place (in Mods, not Saves), that they're the most recent versions, that they're not known to be broken (which means there's no current working version), and that you don't have duplicates. Also, every time you delete a file from Mods or replace one there, delete the file called localthumbcache.
The current Broken/Updated Mods and the previous Broken/Updated Mods list are good starting points for this process. If you'd like some support during it, I'm happy to provide that.
