sims 4 hair cc won't change color?

what the title says. when i have a hair color selected on a cc it won't change unless i change the default hair color. I just want some hair colors specific to certain outfits. maybe i'm dumb, and this isn't possible, but everyone online says that you can get hair colors specific to outfits so long as you use a cc hair. if anyone has any solutions, please help me out here! thank you!

I might be a little late but I’m pretty sure the reason why you can’t use the slider is because the original hair that you downloaded didn’t come with the file that would support that.
For example, if it worked with color sliders you would download hair.package and hair_sliders.package but I’m pretty sure there was only one file. Some creators do make cc that is supported with the color slider but not all!
