@ABC4229 It can be any CC or mods that game updates have caused to be outdated. You can determine if it's CC/mods by testing "vanilla": Drag the Mods folder to the desktop, delete the file called localthumbcache, open the game to test, and exit without saving.
If that works, you can make use of the pinned Broken/Updated list, the "updated" lists (which are very long) in the 1.105 Broken/Updated Mods & CC thread , and the instructions on how to do a 50-50 test to isolate broken content.

thank you for your reply! I dragged the mods folder to desktop, game worked, then put my mods folders back in one by one. Strangely though, I ended up with ALL my mods back in my folder, but the game does work again!

@ABC4229 Awesome! There's a chance the game just needed a new folder? It happens, but less often than the mods themselves being the issue. Keep an eye on pinned topics for mod/CC updates! It'll help prevent other kinds of issues.
