Script mods turned into CC

Hello! I downloaded some CC and mods and put them in the Mods folder, but when I started the game, the mods were listed in Custom Content instead of Script Mods. What do I do?

OK then.  At this point, I'm not sure what is going on with your game.  The only thing I can think of is for you to try is to repair the game.

The only other thing I can think of that might be preventing the mods from showing up and working is that you have the Legacy version of the game.  So, what is your game version? You can find that on the bottom of the Main Menu.  And what platform are you using, Mac or PC?

Edit:  Another thing that would be helpful is if you would post screenshots of your mods folder that shows the entire path to the folder (at the top) and of your Gameplay settings.

    Hope this helps.

Not all mods are script mods.  So if you see that they are working, you don't have to do anything.  Just play.  If they are not working, then look at Gameplay Options and make sure you have enabled everything by checking the boxes.  CC and script mods.  If you have to check the boxes for those, then restart and check again to make sure they are working.

    Hope this helps.

  • Hello, thank you for your response! I've done everything, but it didn't work. My friend and I installed the same mods together, all of their mods were in script mods, but those same mods were in custom content for me. Maybe something is wrong with my game?

Ok.  So just to make sure, did you unzip them and put them in the Mods subfolder in The Sims 4 folder?  And did you use subfolders for them?  If script mods are placed in subfolder more than one deep, most will not work.  And if they are zipped, you will need to unzip them.  Same goes for files that end in .zip, .rar, and .7z.  The game will only read .package files.  The .ts4script that is used by some mods is read by the mod .package file as I understand it, so the only 2 file extensions you should have in your mod folder are .package and .ts4script.  Any other files with extensions other than those 2 are ignored by the game.  Mods will not run from the compressed files either.  So make sure they are unzipped and try placing them in the mods folder directly with no subfolders to see if they will work.

    Hope this helps.

  • Yes, I unzipped them, and I also put them in a subfolder in the Mods folder. I put all the mods into the Mods folder directly after I read your response though, but it still didn't work ☹️(

Hi @Iguessimanoodle Game Repair is done via the EA App/Origin. However, the reason a script mod isn't showing as one is usually an installation problem. Make sure script mods are no more than one folder deep or the game doesn't see the .ts4script file, only any accompanying package file.
