Sims 4 acting career tasks

Whenever I have a Sim with the acting career they can't complete the acting tasks in the studio. Does anyone else have this problem?

@Dyltastic Can you elaborate a little on what is happening? Is the event popup not appearing? What is happening to prevent the career tasks from completing?
