I just had this problem today, also with a sim in University Housing. All of my mods are up to date, and after removing them from the game, I still got the 110 error code.
LE file from MCC says "resolver.py?"
@achare Are all your mods either updated or cleared as compatible with the patch? Gameplay mods that aren't one of those should be removed until they're updated or cleared. This was a big patch, and it's far too soon to know all of what broke.

Yep, I went through and updated everything very carefully yesterday!

@achare An LE from MCCC means you still had mods when it was generated. Please do a "vanilla" test: Delete your exception files. Drag the Mods folder to the desktop, delete the file called localthumbcache, open the game to test, and exit without saving. Upload a screenshot of the error code and a Maxis-created LE file.
