Sims 4, Finding things in the forest in cottage living don't count

I am playing a sim with the aspiration to be cottage living farmer. He has completed most of the aspiration, but when I let him go to the forest to find things, he find them at the ig snail, and when he finds them, it doesn't count to his aspiration. I would like him to be a plant whisperer, but I can't do it because of this bug. Thanks for listening.
