Sims 4 freezes when I try to save it MacBook Air 20'- Expansion Packs/Mods Used

When I first downloaded sims to my Macbook air 2020, I was able to play without any issues. I built my game all the way up and had cheats on. I used a few mods. I also have all the expansion packs so not sure if MacBooks just can't take the size of the game. While playing I tried to save and it froze. I had no choice but to shut the whole laptop off. Of course when I turned it on nothing saved but also my entire saved game was missing. I couldn't retrieve it from the saved files either. Just devastating. Now it's just a continuous issue. I can't play. It sucks. I did see that origin has a new Mac app coming soon but WHEN and will this fix my problem??

Thanks ~

  • @deucedeuce85 Errors when saving can be caused by outdated mods. Try testing without them, and without your saves visible to the game:

Exit Sims 4 then drag your Mods and Saves folders to your desktop. Then delete the file called localthumbcache from Document > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4. Now open Sims 4 and see if you still have the problem in a new game. If you don't, look for updates to the mods you were using; you can start in the Broken Mods thread. If you do still have the problem, this could be a PC issue, not a game issue; you can get support for that in https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues-Mac/bd-p/The-Sims-Mac.
