Sims 4 game loads black box over house and turns black during gameplay

While I’m trying to get into game play on the sims 4 my house will have a black box over it and then after getting into my sims family it’ll load up black. I repaired the game deleted cache files ope...

I experienced this issue today while building. There is a LOT of CC on the lot but this (below) started spontaneously while I was using a Basegame terrain paint outside. 

I stupidly saved while it was happening, and when I reloaded the game everything worked fine except the thumbnail for the house looked like the one in the OP

I was able to resolve the issue (I hope) by rolling back my save to before the glitch occurred. Hopefully it won't happen again.

    If you move out your Mods folder, trash the localthumbcache.package file then load up the game does the lot still look like in your second picture?
