Sims 4: I can't move objects live mode

I am currently on the science career. I have invented the satelite dish on the invention machine but I can't move it off the machine. I have tried with other objects such as spinach on the ground but can't move these either. Is there any way to fix this? I have been moving the inventions off the machine with no problem up to this point.
