Sims 4 keeps crashing 2024
I have tried everything !! Repairing, deleting broken mods, localthumbcache, created a new sims 4 folder, watched so many YouTube videos on what to do and now I’m thinking it’s some sort of technical...
@samuellaaa123 When you created a new Sims 4 user folder, did you restore any of your old content from the previous folder? If so, please create another new folder and test with no added content.
Additionally, your dxdiag crashed while running and lists a few generic Windows errors, so it's a good idea to run a couple of basic checks of your Windows system files:
Restart your computer, hit Windows key-i, select Update & Security, and click the box to check for updates. If any install, restart again afterwards.
Please also disable Game Mode and Game Bar, both under Windows Settings > Gaming.
I did come across an error when doing that
It said:
"Error: 740 Elevated permissions are required to run DISM. Use an elevated command prompt to complete these tasks." @puzzlezaddict
I also have now disabled Game Mode and Game Bar.
@samuellaaa123 You need to choose the PowerShell option with (Administrator) in its name. That's what elevated permissions means.
Update: I tested the game out after doing both of the scans,
the sfc/scannow one did say that it found corrupted files and successfully repaired them.
I tested the game with no mods or saves everything seemed to work perfectly i didn't crash so I don't know I'm kind of scared of playing with my mods i do have over 3k and that's AFTER I deleted some and a lot of duplicates. But however I do wanna download sims 4 studio to be able to see which cc i do not want so maybe it wont be too much for my game to handle.
I do feel as though the two new recent packs may have had an effect on the game I did recently get Horse Ranch
Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files and successfully repaired them.
For online repairs, details are included in the CBS log file located at
windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For example C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For offline
repairs, details are included in the log file provided by the /OFFLOGFILE flag.
PS C:\WINDOWS\system32>
thanks! reminds me of windows 1.11

@Captain_Karaoke Do you need help with something? If so, please describe it, and also test without your Mods folder if you normally use mods or custom content.
