It's the babies, too. I have no mods. I created one parent. She mated with Malcolm Landgraab. His parents are both light-skinned and blonde haired. She is light skinned and brown hair. The baby came out at least 4 shades darker than her skin. If the algorithms are done correctly, its black hair doesn't matter. I had black hair as a baby - a head full of it. It turned redish, then blonde as a child and teen, then turned dark brown as an adult. My eldest daughter's hair did the same thing.
Please do not try to tell me that there is a dark-skinned person in the Landgraab family. In real life, this sort of thing can happen, but is VERY rare. In a game, when I create my gal and mate with someone, whose parents I can clearly see, I should not be getting children that look utterly unrelated to my sims. I didn't have them adopt. Now I will need to restore a save and see if that is already locked in. If so, I will have to restore to before they got pregnant.
Are there any mods to fix this issue?
Just to be clear: I would feel just as irritated, if my dark-skinned people mated with other dark-skinned people and got white babies or blonde babies, or my Asians and Latinos facing the same circumstances. If I want pot-luck, I would adopt.
This might be an old issue that still shows up from time to time. If your issue is that the baby's portrait appears darker than it should be then it's that issue popping up in your game. In my game, a lot of the time, the babies will show up with darker skin in the portrait at the bottom of the screen but the baby itself will be the right color in live mode. Once the baby ages up to a toddler, the skin color in the portrait will correct itself. The babies will also show up darker in the Manage Households household portraits as well but again, it will correct itself when the baby ages up.
There are no mods to correct this and nothing you can do to change it afaik.
Hope this helps

I specifically wrote that it is not the portrait, so why are you writing a response that has nothing to do with the issue?

It's the same issue and shows up in different ways. I can't remember when it actually started but it around the time that the number of skin tones was increased and Island Living added tanning. The portrait was where it showed up most often. It was patched but I still see it in my game from time to time as I play a long term save so that is why I mentioned the portraits. I have also seen the wrong color on the babies in my game, but not since the patch. But the gist of what I was saying is that it will self-correct when the baby ages up so the baby gets the right skin tone color that they should have as a toddler. There is nothing we players can do about it even with mods. Just have to live with it.
Hope this helps.
