Sims 4 not launching

Hi. I am relatively new to the Sims 4. I have been having this one issue over and over. I go to the EA app like normal to launch the Sims 4. I tell it to open the game, but the game will no longer launch. I contacted support about a week ago, and the person told me to move my Mods folder to my desktop. I did, and it worked. My game launched. The issue was that I had no idea my mods would no longer be in the game since I moved the mods folder out. I tried moving it back to its original spot, and the game would no longer work again. Long story short, I started out with making a new Mods folder and copying mods and cc over little by little (like 10 files at a time), and I would test to see if the game would start up. Unfortunately I had thousands of mods/cc so it was going to take forever. I ended up deleting all of my mods/cc and decided it would be easier on me to restart. Unfortunately, this issue has just occurred for a second time... the game will only work again if I move the mods folder to my desktop.. but my cc/mods will have to be transferred again. Please does anyone know how to fix this? Am I supposed to have a hard drive? Does this occur after updates? Please help. 

Note: I have a MacBook Air 10 if that helps.

    Why, after the new update is this game completely unplayable?? I updated the game this morning and after only 5 or 6 rounds, I've been kicked due to an error almost every single game. This is unacceptable. Please fix this now or it will likely be the last straw for me and likely many other players. After committing to "game stability changes", this is just sad.

    Thank you so much! Do I also need to go through every single one again if that doesn't work? Lol I'm sure it will but I swear the broken stuff is always hidden deep in the folder lol.

    Also, when I go down that list, do I just need to type the names of them in my folder to see if I have them? Bc tbh I have so much cc I can't remember what I do and don't have

    @ericaaa3 At least part of the name of each mod/CC will be in the file name. Most creators put their own name in the file name, too.

    If you still have issues after removing things on the Broken lists (including previously broken) and updating updated mods, you can do a 50-50 test on your Mods folder. This is more efficient than testing one by one!

    Later, you might want to reorganize your Mods folder. I find that organizing by creator makes for the fastest way to find mods.

    Thank you so so much for your replies and time. If you don't mind replying again, how would you recommend organizing my mods folder? I'm super new to the Sims so I apologize for the dumb questions lol. 

    I have organized a few of them before but I don't know if I'm doing it right. I moved my mods folder to my desktop and made a new mods folder. Little by little I copied mods/cc over to the new folder. Then I would run the game after adding some files. If the game ran, I knew those mods/cc were fine. Then I would tag them on my Mac as "working mods"  and then I would repeat the process. But it got tedious since I have so many files.

    Thank you! I have been working on it and have them sorted by the creators I downloaded the cc from. I found that putting a "curse forge" and "Patreon" folder into each creator's folder helpful so if something breaks I know what site I downloaded them from. Thanks for all your help
