Sims 4 realm of magic cannot ask to learn magic

I’m playing my normal two person household. One of my sims was able to ask a sage how to learn magic and the other on can only have generic sim to sim interaction the option to ask to learn doesn’t p...

Thank you so much for your help! I’ve tried all the steps with the same result (nothing for my one sim) I’m wondering if it’s because she’s also a mermaid?

Buy her two portions of seaweed for points and after eating she will turn into a human. Then she will be able to ask sage about magic.
