Sims 4 will not recognize an updated mod that is already downloaded

Hello,

I have been cleaning out my mods folder today on my PC. When I went into play the game, I get a message saying that a mod (Which I will not mention the name here), has already been updated, and that I should download the latest one. However, I have updated the mod, and it's the latest one, but the game hasn't recognized it.

I have already updated the mod, repaired the EA app, recovered the saved game, restarted my laptop, uninstalled and reinstalled the EA app, and did an EA app Recovery, but nothing worked. Now what do I do?

  • @SimSeeker  The game doesn’t keep track of mod status, so if you’re getting a notice to update a mod that notice is itself coming from a mod - either the mod the notice is about, or possibly a mod management mod.

If you’re sure you have the latest version of the mod - maybe try redownloading it if you haven’t - try removing other mods to see if the message goes away.

    Hello,

I have noticed that this one mod had another folder outside the mods one in the Sims 4 folder. I deleted what was in that, and it work. I didn't get the same message again.

@SimSeeker If you run into further issues with that mod, I'd suggest heading to its installation instructions. Sometimes that other folder is something that belonged in Tray, for example, to provide a venue in-game that the mod uses.
