Sims are unresponsive

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Often (50% - 99%)
What is your current game version number? 1.93.129.1030
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Everything but High School Years, Dream Home Decorator, My Wedding Stories, Star Wars, Werewolves, Luxury Party Stuff, Moschino and Paranormal Living.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? I'm not sure, it could occur at random. For some reason, it only happened with one of my saves, although it has happened in the past.
What happens when the bug occurs? After my sim exits the bed, they just stand there, ignoring the thing in their queue (such as to go to the toilet). I also notice that a few of the npcs are stuck too.
What do you expect to see? I expect to see my sim behave normally. Basically, respond to their queue/command.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Yes
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure

I even tried to reset my sim numerous times. They move to get to the thing which is in their queue (such as going to the shower), but they still remain unresponsive. 😕

@SharpBunny5 Can you try moving the Sim to a different lot to see if the same occurs there ?

    Do backup your save first.

  • Hi @SharpBunny5

Try resetting your user files as described in the factory reset described in this post: http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-4/FAQ-Troubleshooting-Steps-amp-Known-Issues/m-p/3621199

You won't loose anything. Just make sure to not delete any files  and make a backup.

After renaming, repair your game by right clicking on the game in Origin.

Try on a new game with nothing added back first (start new game). If it works, put back your save game and try again. If it still works, you can start putting stuff back.

    • Options.ini (or just re-set all your settings manually)
    • Tray Folder
    • Screenshots/Videos/Custom music
    • Rest of the save games (leave out slot_00000001.save which is the autosave and no longer needed - if you still have it)
    • Custom content like clothing, hair, skins, make up ....
    • ConfigOverride, if you have your own configuration files.
    • Mods (one by one, making sure they all still work)

The rest does not need putting back, cause they are mostly cache files that recreate or log files that are not needed for the game.

  • Reseted and repaired. Then, I went back into my save file and put my sim back to bed. However, when I tried to get them out, they still remained unresponsive. So, I tried resetting them, then made them do something else (like reading a book). Although they did what they were told, but after they paused for a moment.

I suppose this is progress. Heck, they even placed the book back when I cancelled the item in their queue. However, when I went to put them back to bed they still paused. I reseted them and then made them walk somewhere, which they did, but then paused again with the command still stuck in their queue. Also, this only seems to happen with only one save file. All together, they just won't leave the bed, and if they do, they just lay and stay on the bed, ignoring the next thing in their queue.

  • Travelled to another lot, then travelled back. Put my sim to bed, then made him get out of bed (it worked!). However, I did try this in the past and it didn't work (could be because there were many sims on the lot at the time). I also moved my sim to another lot liked you asked and then put him back to bed. After that, he woke up the next morning (it also worked!). Gonna try moving him back to his original lot and see if it still works, I may come back here if it does occur again. But thank you Crin! :>
