Sims Cannot Interact/Script Call Failed

So since about the last 2 updates, my sims have not been able to interact with each other, no matter what I do. The sims can perform introductions, but aside from that, they cannot speak to each other. I just got Get Famous, and I can’t play it properly due to this. Along with this, certain items in build mode cannot be placed; I try to place them, but they disappear with the tag line "Script Call Failed". This applies to desks, counters, and dressers. My sims cannot cook or use a computer due to this. I have no script mods downloaded, and no bugs in my cc whatsoever. I have tried to repair the game multiple times, along with uninstalling then reinstalling. Please help me!
