Sims can't reach microwave

Please. It's right in front of them. They can't use the microwave that is clearly unobstructed. I'm gonna go insane. I have never wanted to jump into a screen and physically attack a video game character more in my life.
They'll want to use an icecream maker upstairs, as opposed to a microwave or a hotpot right by them. Why? Why is this?

Yes, I am using mods. But I don't see how any of them would do whatever this is. I have read the 'read this about mods and cc' thing, it didn't help me at all. So please don't send that. I found one other thread with this issue and someone just sent that and there were no other answers.
If the microwave thing can't be solved, I want them to at LEAST autonomously use the hotpots. I don't know why they don't.
