Sims don't move since last update
My sims don't move regardless of what I have them to do. This has been happening since the "For Rent" update and is problematic for newly created sims, as well as my older saves. It doesn't work if I...
@nicoletad Please try this test:
- Exit Sims 4 then drag your whole Sims 4 folder from Document > Electronic Arts to your desktop. This will make sure your Mods folder is out, and the localthumbcache file that holds its memory, and any glitching in other cache spots, including less common problem spots
- Launch Sims 4 and reset your Options.
- Start with New to test if your issue recurs.
- If that works, exit and copy files out of your old Saves folder into the new Saves folder. Important: Don't just copy the old folder! You want to use the newly created folders.
- Launch Sims 4 and use Load to select an older save to test.
- If that works, you can copy your old Tray files (this is your Library), Screenshots and Videos files.
- To test mods, copy the files into the new folder *in batches* with any mods they depend on (injectors and core mods, for example). Don't copy your old resource.cfg file. If you delete any mods from the new folder, delete localthumbcache. Check the instructions on 50-50 testing here: https://answers.ea.com/t5/Game-and-Mod-CC-Issues/Mod-and-CC-Issues-Discussion-and-Support-1-103-Dec-5-amp-14-2023/m-p/13271178#M51892
I tried and the issue is still there. Thanks for the help tho!
@nicoletad If you do test in a *new* save, not your old one, *before* you move mods back, it's still not working?
@nicoletad I'm going to move you over to Game Issues. However, this is almost always mod related, usually because mods are outdated (especially when an update is the time things start) or not properly installed. Hence the reason to test in a clean folder before adding anything back -- that removed all impact mods could have. You might want to retry the clean folder + new save test.
