sims4 lagging

so basically my sims has ran well with many mods in the past, i started it up after the new update and it started to lag. it stops for a second when my sim gets up to do something, or when im in CAS i choose something and it freezes for a second too. i’ve deleted over 600 mods and cc but im still having issues. i downloaded better exceptions and deleted broken mods but no change. how can i fix this?? my laptop is able to run sims smoothly and this hasn’t been an issue in the past.
