Solved

Sold the Outfit on Trendi, but my Sim still auto changes into it to bathe, etc.

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.97.62.1020
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? All of them minus a few of the stuff kits.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Create an outfit at the thrift store, and wear it from your inventory.
What happens when the bug occurs? Even if you change out of the outfit, and SELL it (it's no longer in my inventory, it was sold on Trendi and mailed), my sim auto changes into it to bathe (which is the strangest part), when she goes to work (detective), and I believe to sleep sometimes. It's not in CAS. It's frustrating having her in this ridiculous outfit when she's a cop, or in the tub.
What do you expect to see? In the outfits she's supposed to be auto-change to.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? No

@RobinSparklesCh1 How are you "changing back" though? In my experience, you have to use the "Remove outfit" option on the bag in the inventory to take off the Trendi outfit, otherwise the game will permanently think your sim is wearing it forever, overriding your normal bathing outfits etc.

  • Hi, thanks for responding.

I actually had this happen to me when the High School Years pack initially came out, and I wasn't using any mods. I just moved onto a new Sim and forgot about the issue until now on a new save.  Now I'm only using a mod that adds a couple of aspirations and enables "existing venue changes".

I did disable mods today and had her buy a new outfit, tried it on, changed into her normal clothes and then she immediately gifted it to someone.  She returned home and had her take a shower, she changed into the new thrift store outfit that I had gifted instead of being "blurry naked", so the problem is still there.

Also, when she was done a task and decided to automatically workout (I didn't tell her to), she auto-changed into the Thrift store outfit.

  • Yes, I just tested that out. I went to a family that was default in Copperdale, had a Sim create the outift at the Thrift Store, try it on, change back and gift it immediately. Then she went home and took a shower and she auto-changed into the outfit that she had just given away.

  • Oh my goodness, you solved it, I think! I was just doing the regular "Change outfit" back to everyday or whatever one I picked first. I just went back to the detective Sim I had the issue with that made me post this, had her create a new outfit, put it on, then removed the outfit from the "bag" in her inventory, gifted it, had her shower and she actually got naked this time.

The real test will be when she goes to work. If she shows up as a detective in the wedding dress I just created I'll report back, but I have a feeling she will be in her detective gear.  THANK YOU SO MUCH!

I haven't played through the detective career fully yet and I didn't want to start over, I think you've saved me from doing that.
