[Solved ... Ish?] Unable to load into specific families in multiple save files

Product: The Sims 4
Platform: PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? 100% of the time when trying to load into specific families
What is your current game version number? 1.103.250.1020 (most recent)
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? All
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Loading into my family household.  
What happens when the bug occurs? Unable to load into the family. Occasionally I will get an eternal loading screen and can hear the family living their lives in the background, but most of the time it just goes out to the world select and gives me an error. 
What do you expect to see? Hopefully my sims families being saved. 
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Yes, but have tested the family without mods enabled.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? After the Expansion Pack drop on Dec 07

Here's what I have done to try and troubleshoot: 

  • Started the game with mods disabled and tried to load into the family. 
  • Deleted localthumbcache and made sure all mods are updated to most recent versions
  • Tried to go to the lot of the family with a different sim, which worked. I can visit the lot and interact with the sims with a different household, I just can't play the family(/ies) in question.
  • Repaired my game. Deleted localthumbcache again. 
  • Downloaded Lumpinou's Milestone Cheats to try and remove/add back the motor milestones. I was able to use the control any sim mod to take control of the child of the family, and interestingly, ALL of his milestones were completely gone. (Also did the same with the other 2 members of the family, all of their milestones were wiped too) I tried adding back the milestones I knew he had. I can now hear the family living their lives in the background of the loading screen, but the loading screen just loads forever and doesn't load into the family.  
  • Managed to get into CAS to save the family to my gallery. Tried putting them into a fresh save file. Still won't load. 
  • Tried starting the game with mods enabled, but without the mods folder, deleted all cache files before loading. Tried loading into the family. Still won't load and gives me an error code (see below). 
  • Backed up my save files, tray files, screenshots and mods and uninstalled the game, deleted the remnants of the folder, then reinstalled the game. Attempted to load into the family. Still no dice.

This is now happening for two (three now) of my files, ironically both of them are Whimsy Story Legacy files. One of them is for Youtube and I'm really attached to the family, and the other of them is a solo file and is on generation 8 almost. I'd be totally devastated to lose them both. I really hope they can be saved.. ☹️ Help me EA Forums-Wan-Kenobi, you're my only hope.

EDIT: Tried loading into the other save that was doing this to try and get the error code, but couldn't get the code. Here's the Better Exceptions report.

EDIT #2: Testing my other save files, a third save is now doing this. Managed to screencap the error code this time. 

Edit #3: So I have found a solution ... Not the solution I wanted, but the solution that works. I had to figure out which sim in the household is the corrupted sim, which I did by going in on another family and adding the sims one by one to the family. The one sim that gave me an LE was the corrupted one. So then I added the sims back to their original family, made a twin of the sim, deleted the corrupted sim, and have been slowly building them back to where they were using mods/cheats. It's not the solution I wanted, but ... It's going to save my files.

  • Hi @kasenrin You say you removed mods, but there are some complex mods that can cause problems if you remove instead of updating. Start with the Updated post in Broken/Updated Mods  to see if that resolves some of your issues.

    Yeah, I follow that thread religiously. I updated all of the major mods that had updates, the remaining ones were ones that pretty much never get updated. I think the only one that I removed that still needs to be updated is SNB Bank/Bills/etc, and given the new billing system introduced with the new pack I thought it might do more harm than good to just leave it in, but maybe the opposite happened, idk. I tried backing up my important files and doing a fresh reinstall of the game and now my game just won't load at all with mods. About to try loading it without mods and just my saves and tray files to make sure it's mod-related.
