Unplayed NPCs not living in Glimmerbrook will no longer appear in Glimmerbrook performing Magic.
Fixed in Patch 1.59.73
@TheSpaark My only experience with the town so far, since I spend most of my in-game time building lately, is that I made a bakery loosely themed to ROM. It was built and tested on the lot 'Brooks Bridge Borough' in Glimmerbrook. I then played a family in it, as it has a family home/apartment above it. Having the regular townies come to the new world worked very well for my gameplay with this lot. I also had a very nice sized crowd there with no advertising, and it was the first day. In my past experience the same group of customers tend to rotate through with a retail business, so this was a nice run for this dynamic.
Having babbled on about that test...are you referring to Glimmerbrook or the other world... Realm of Magic? I have not played that yet. If so, I can understand having a different expectation of how interactions go there, and probably who is there. I guess what I am throwing out there is that I appreciate so far that Glimmerbrook seems 'normal' enough to operate in, if you did not want to be up to your elbows in the spellcasters, etc. I was happy that townies from other worlds showed up there readily.
@SheriGR, in the first post @TheSpaark states that the problem is with the Magic Realm. It is supposed to be that only Spellcasters or those seeking to become one can go there, but then again there is the magic portal out in the open in Glimmerbrook. So it doesn't surprise me if a few NPCs like Bob Pankcakes showed up from time to time, but the fact of the matter is they are showing up often, and not just as tourists, but have been seen to do spells and engage in magic duels, etc. Also, their clothing will usually change to something a bit more magical.
I would expect more Sims like Bob Pancakes and Lily Fang to show up in Glimmerbrook, but not the Realm. But it seems reversed to me… I see more NPCs in the Realm than I do in Glimmerbrook! 🤨😞
@PugLove888 Interesting. When I played that store 3-4 of the 'stars' from Get Famous - and their paparazzi, like in other worlds, but they did purchase, and I had customers behaving like they would in other worlds. So from my window of exposure to Glimmerbrook townies are behaving as expected, but I would certainly not expect them to just randomly show up in the hidden ROM world since it is designed for spellcasters, etc. I hope they will adjust the code so that these other townies will mill around and enjoy Glimmerbrook, but not become immersed in the ROM world in a manner that makes little sense in the scope of the game. Apparently townies specifically made for that world need to spawn or come with the pack, not just grabbing up random previous townies... though I could see the Goths doing a bit of Magic. On the other hand, the Pancakes? Um.... no.
@SheriGR, yeah... the Goths totally would love the Realm... but I've seen both Bob and Eliza Pancakes there! Geoffrey Landgraab too! I think part of the problem is that unlike Windenburg, our biggest world, there are only 2 households in Glimmerbrook .. so that is only 2 families not counting the Sages in the Realm. The 2 Glimmerbrook households are the Charm Family which has 4 people, and a couple of roommates in another house... for a total of 6 Glimerbrook residents that everyone with ROM has.. They aren't going to be at the Realm 24/7 so to fill out the Realm the game needs more people to visit it. That means either using existing NPCs, or generating new magical Townies. 🤨
