unable to play the game

My sims 4 game isn't letting me participate in gameplay. I would try to either load an already made game or make a new one, I will get taken to chose which world and lot, after I do that it would load and take me back to the choose world page. I haven't been on the game in 2 months and I've updated the game and repaired it many times in hopes it would work, I haven't tried to remove and put all my mods back in one at a time but I will try and come back to update if it doesn't work. Help and advice would be awesome.
