Unplayable lagging

Hi, I have played the sims 4 for a few years now and now I am experiencing unplayable lagging in my game. I do play with mods. I need some advice to make the sims 4 playable again

A quick solution might be to check your game without BetterBuildBuy or TOOL by tmex in case you use those particular mods.

Otherwise you might try the following, to see whether your game works without mods:

    1. Move all your mods and CC other than MCCC somewhere safe (there's no need to delete them!) such as a folder on your desktop so you can easily find them again.
    2. Make sure to delete your localthumbcache.package file.
    3. Once done, start up your game and test to see if the error still appears.

Your game will probably work flawless without mods. If that's the case you have to go through your mods and find the culprit. The 50/50 search might be a good method for this task to get a result in a reasonable time. Have a look at this post for directions >> AHQ Link

    Attention:

All modded content will disappear from the game if you remove it, so if sims are wearing CC it will vanish while you're testing.

Because of this it's really important that you do not save the game while testing.

That way your CC will still be there when you bring your mods back into your game.

  • @Zarajade123 Lag has a lot of causes. Yours might be mod-related but it might not. You can test vanilla to find out if it's mod-related. When it is mod-related, it can be because you're pushing the game extra hard on gameplay mechanisms for your computer.
