I have recently noticed that just about every time my Sim leaves the computer and stops writing her books, it does not save and there is no "resume writing" option, except for one time, but I don't know what I did differently. In order for books to count, she seems to need to finish them in one sitting.
I am playing on PC, with Lumpinou's Relationship Overhaul and Deaderpool's MCCC.
1Madscientist101 did you update your game to the latest update? this was one of the things they supposedly fixed in the last update. I'm pretty sure my sims were not getting this problem any more.

1Madscientist101 Please test with NO mods or CC, and delete localthumbcache when you do. You can check in a new save if the issue recurs.
