Vacation Day Option in phone is gone

Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Click on the phone button. There appears to be some other trigger that I cannot identify.
What happens when the bug occurs? The "Take a Vacation Day (Career)" option does not appear.
What do you expect to see? The "Take a Vacation Day (Career)" option appear.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure
This is an issue that has apparently been fixed but has recently appeared in one of my saves, in which my sim is a level 8 Oracle, however I have observed it happening to another sim in the eSport Gamer career branch. Loading another save on the same career track (Criminal) shows the option behaving as expected, so there must be some hidden condition causing the bug to occur. I have played this save for quite some time, exceeding 100 hours if the "Honorary SimGuru" achievement is to be believed. I've seen the other topic in which this issue has been fixed but I was instructed to make another one by the final post in that thread.
Any help would be appreciated.
So after some trial and error I think I figured out a solution. Deleting localthumbcache.package from the The Sims 4 folder under Documents and launching the game seems to have fixed it for me. If anyone has the same problem, this is probably a good place to start.
