When I move in my sims money is 0$

Doesn't seem to matter if its a new or existing sim, doesn't matter what lot I use it says I have 0$ when I start a new game? I know I can use a money cheat but is there a way to fix the issue?

  • @AhsierGKNot aware of that as a common bug...
Best answer for the now is the old standard.
Remove Mods / Saves / Tray to desktop
    Delete thumbcache
Go to EA APP and repair
Start new clean game and test sim
If problem gone, it's a mod issue, and you need to 50 / 50 mods back in.
Then when you have that narrowed down you can put saves / trays back
Good idea to check the known broken mods post also.
December saw some chaos for some mods.
    Hope that helps.

I don’t have any mods. I downloaded base game and the two add ons they had for free. I had only played one other time on this computer with one other family.

Hi @AhsierGK There are a lot of options for moving households in the Sims. Are you moving your Sims to a new house from an old one? Or moving new Sims from CAS into a house for the first time?

New or old sims, premade sims, can be in empty lots, my previous homes, or premade homes. I can buy whatever lot or house I can afford but when I go to wherever I chose my balance is zero, even though it says I should have 18500$ if the lot I picked was 1500 for example. It’s always zero.

@AhsierGK And this is with a completely empty mods folder? Let's see if a cleared cache and Game Repair solves it:

    • Exit Sims 4 then drag your whole Sims 4 folder from Document > Electronic Arts to your desktop. Copy your Saves folder too if you think you might accidentally save while testing.
    • In the EA App or Origin, do a Game Repair.
    • Launch Sims 4 and reset your Options.
    • Start a "New" save to test if your issue recurs.
    • If that works, exit and copy files out of your old Saves folder into the new Saves folder. Important: Don't just copy the old folder! You want to use the newly created folders.
    • Launch Sims 4 and use Load to select an older save to test.
    • If that works, you can copy your old Tray files (this is your Library), Screenshots and Videos files.
