Why do people upload CC sims/houses on the gallery?

Now I'm not knocking anyone for using CC first of all. I'm an avid user of CC and I can't live without my folder of ccs! That said, I really don't understand why anyone uploads CC sims to the gallery....

I didn't think you could see CC Sims in the gallery unless you mark the "show custom content" part of the search screen. So you are seeing them through your own search.
