Why do people upload CC sims/houses on the gallery?

Now I'm not knocking anyone for using CC first of all. I'm an avid user of CC and I can't live without my folder of ccs! That said, I really don't understand why anyone uploads CC sims to the gallery....

Same. I've lost everything before and do this as a safe way to recover them if something happens to my computer.
