Also a PS4 gamer here (high five). I've been having success by always making a new save, every time. Otherwise - overwriting a save never works. But you said you had already deleted your old saves... could the difference be that I kept my previous save but always make a new one? Does that really matter? Seems it could be the difference between us? Not programming literate here, just trying to help.
