Prom missing from calendar and not triggering – PS5
I’m playing on PS5 and the Prom has completely disappeared from my game. It’s just not on the calendar anymore and I don't have any social interactions to invite other Sims or anything. The weirdest part is that from time to time on Saturdays, my teen Sims still get a phone call from NPCs asking to hang out before the Prom. If I say yes, a few teens show up wherever my Sim is currently at, but they just leave immediately as soon as they arrive. After that, nothing happens. No notification to go to the auditorium, no Prom, nothing. I use my main account to play while the packs were bought on a second account via console sharing, but I've already tested playing directly on the buyer account and the bug is exactly the same there too. English How often does the bug occur? 100% of the time What is your current game version number? (You can find this on the main menu, but you can just say "Pre-March 17 Build") What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? All / Most (Or list the ones most affected, like Lovestruck for the flirting bug) Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Attempt to use the Gallery on a PlayStation console. Note the "Version Mismatch" error when trying to download any recent content. Observe autonomous behavior (Sims excessively flirting or performing repetitive social interactions). What happens when the bug occurs? The game version is outdated compared to PC/Mac. The Gallery is non-functional for new content, and critical "Laundry List" fixes from the March 17 and March 23 updates are missing for console players. What do you expect to see? Platform parity. Console players should receive updates alongside PC/Mac to ensure Gallery compatibility and a stable gameplay experience. Additional Information: I am a legacy player (currently on my Grail family save) and the lack of Gallery functions is making the game nearly unplayable. I have already opened a formal complaint with EA Support (Case #241054325) and was directed here to share this feedback. As a player in South Africa, I am seeing no communication regarding the regional or global release date for this patch.Solved
Controls for The Sims 4 on consoles (Outdated as of February 2023)
Edited (June 2020) - With the latest patch, we have added a new Controls Overlay Reminder that shows up throughout CAS, Gallery, Live Mode and Build Mode which should make it easier for new Simmers to jump in and not need to remember all the controls. If you don’t want to be reminded and you know all the controls by heart, you can turn off the Controls Overlay Reminder in the Game Options > Other menu Hi Simmers, We have seen quite a few questions and discussions surrounding the controls so I thought this is the perfect opportunity to put our heads together and share some tips & tricks regarding controls. I'll start with the basics and a few not so basic, if you have tips of your own to share drop a post below. I will keep updating this post with all the new tips that come in 🙂 BASIC CONTROLS FOR XBOX BASIC CONTROLS FOR PLAYSTATION ADVANCED TRICKS Live Mode: Open cheats bar: Xbox: Press both the left and right triggers and bumpers (LT + RT + LB + RB) PlayStation: Press L1 + L2 + R1 + R2 all at the same time Heads up: You will need to introduce testingcheats on to use cheats. If you use testingcheats, achievements will be disabled for the current save game. Show cheat options when clicking on Sims/objects (equivalent to Shift + click on PC): Xbox: press B + A. Make sure to press B first, and then A while holding B. PlayStation: press O + X. Make sure to press O first, and then X while holding O. Lock panels like the needs panel: press the right stick to pin an open panel. Clear notifications window: select the notification window, then press Right Trigger (Xbox)/R2 (PS4) to clear all the messages out. Stacks: while having the stack selected in the inventory, press Y (Xbox)/Triangle (PS4). Check goals for social events: (Thanks to @SimGuruKuxiku) Xbox: Press the X button to toggle goals on/off PlayStation: Press the [SQUARE] button to toggle goals on/off When goals are toggled on, you should also see them popping up at the top of your screen once the event started. Also, the description of each event type will get a line added to the top informing you about the challenge reward that you could get when closing off the event and its goals successfully. Buy/Build Mode: Toggle between grid / half grid / free object placing: This will allow you to place objects outside the grid. Xbox: Press the left trigger (LT) PlayStation: Press L2 Rotate objects: while having an object selected: Xbox: press LB or RB. PlayStation: press L1 or R1. Rotate objects to any angle: while having an object selected: Xbox: press LB/RB at the same time, then right stick to rotate. PlayStation: press L1/R1 at the same time, then right stick to rotate. Rotate floor tile: triangle (PS4) or Y (Xbox) while using the single floor tile tool. Toggle between full floor tile/quarter of a floor tile: square (PS4) or X (Xbox) while using the single floor tile tool. Toggle full room and 1 wall when painting: R1 or L1 (PS4) - either one of the Bumpers (Xbox) when using painting tool. Also applies when placing floor tiles or windows. Move one side of the eaves on the roof: Xbox: select the eaves with A and while it is selected, hold X and drag. A and X need to be pressed at the same time. PlayStation: select the eaves with X and while it is selected, hold square and drag. X and square need to be pressed at the same time. Once active, while having an object selected: Xbox: press both triggers + up/down PlayStation: press L2 and R2 + up/down CAS: Clear filters: Xbox: Press X to open the filter and then Y to clear the filters with a category selected. Since the last update as a console player I have ran into so many problems I cannot remember how many. The main issue for me is when I go to build mode to do either a lot or just the smallest thing, when I go back to the live mode - I cannot see my sims/pets, the time/season, notebook, calendar and the commands. It just goes video mode, the only way to make it go away is to save, exit and reload. When I do save and exit, I get a white screen and have to cloes the game entirely. Then restart - Another thing is that I have autonomous function off and they still have minds of their own. Running after others who are leaving their place, or blatantly ignoring the cues given to said sims/ newborns/ infants/ toddlers. Or just not taking care of the lowest need(s). I have played sims since the original PC Sims. I've never dealt with so many problems even on my console since the switch of owners. Please for the love of glob, fix the problems. I have been playing Sims 4 on PS4-PS5 for the last 6 years, and just now being so disappointed in how console play is being put on the back burner with the least attention. I've paid for everything I've got, I shouldn't have to deal with so many bugs. Hello! I’ve been struggling with this for MONTHS now and have no clue what to do anymore. Every single time without fail I try and play the Sims 4 on my PS4 in CAS they just spin around and zoom in and out to the point it’s impossible to play and it’s the same way if I can even get past that into build and buy mode. I’ve deleted the game and redownloaded it and restarted my console I’m at a loss of what I should do. All my packs are on there and I can play Fortnite with nearly zero issue 😭
