Help needed

I accidentally saved a game over another save. Can I get the other one back? I play on PlayStation 5 but with the ps4 sims version. It was my forever save and I am heartbroken please help

    That's the worst thing ever to happen, I'm sorry you lost your save! Hopefully you can recover it if you have ps+ and cloud saves! That's the one thing I don't like on PlayStation, that the last save you played and saved is always at the top of the save slot list so you have to be extra cautious when saving another household you're playing. I lost a save to accidently saving over it too and I don't have PS+ so now I rotationaly save my game to three different slots as I'm playing so if it ever happens again I have back ups 🙂

    I am so sorry this has happened to you. You should get into a habit of backing up your game. I had to start doing that recently, too.  I do hope the advice given above helps you to recover your game save.

    hi fretmeister, I'm so sorry for your unfortunate accident! I know nothing about PlayStation but felt bad and hoped maybe I could help. I googled and found you can sometimes get an overwritten Sims 4 save back on a PlayStation 5 if you have a backup stored in the cloud or on a USB drive.

    Warning: Check the date on the cloud file first. If automatic sync already uploaded the newly overwritten file to the cloud, the older progress is unfortunately gone.

    Cloud Storage Recovery

    If you have an active PlayStation Plus subscription, your console might have an older, un-overwritten version of your save stored in the cloud.

    Go to your PS5 Settings.

    Select Saved Data and Game/App Settings.

    Choose Saved Data (PS5) or Saved Data (PS4) depending on which version of the game you run.

    Select Download or Delete from Cloud Storage.

    Choose The Sims 4 and check the date and time of the cloud save file.

    Select Download to replace your current local save with the older cloud version if it has an older, correct timestamp.

    Warning: Check the date on the cloud file first. If automatic sync already uploaded the newly overwritten file to the cloud, the older progress is unfortunately gone.

    USB Drive Recovery

    If you manually copied your game saves to a USB drive before the overwrite happened, you can restore that backup.

    Connect the USB drive to your PS5.

    Go to Settings.

    Select Saved Data and Game/App Settings.

    Choose Saved Data (PS5) or Saved Data (PS4).

    Select USB Drive and choose Copy to Console Storage for The Sims 4

    I posted the warning twice as I do not want you to miss that step. I hope this can be helpful in recovering your save file! Good Luck!!
