How to delete off lot objects?

I was exploring how right clicking objects can work and set my sim's mailbox as her head. I accidentally clicked the sidewalk in front of her house and the mailbox placed there and now I can't delete it. I tried various ways of getting rid of it and ended up with a second huge mailbox right next to it. How can I get rid of them??
