Object is missing its footprint resource

I do not play with mods or CCs (as far as I know). I play on the Xbox One. My console is up to date. I had a Sims Delivery notification so I allowed the game to update. I am in build mode and notice that there were items that were previously stolen from a burglar and then “returned.” I attempt to replace the items that were swiped and they disappear as soon as I put them down and I get the message “Object is missing its footprint resource.” When I attempt to go buy the same item and place it, I get the same message.
