Photos still black!

It was my understanding that if you had Not gone into a household that had a photos then they would not been affected by this photos turning black. Now the new update is here to fix this issue it seems that is not the case, I have just logged into my household that I know had many photos and I made sure NOT to load in because I really did not want to lose the photos, but low and behold all are black, Which means if I send my sims to university that I know I have photos of graduation pictures of my sims before will all be black too, I am really disapointed about this and feel like it was not a fix at all.
