@EA_CadeI really need you to hear me when I say this. I've purchased nearly all packs on Xbox & had purchased all packs until 2020 on PS4. If you don't bring back controls that are actually usable, specifically the dpad in build mode I'm going to start very loudly demanding my money back. I didn't pay $1k+ for "improved" controls. I paid for the old system for a reason. Fix it or refund me all my purchases. I haven't been able to play since you effectively ruined the game.

Edit: people with special needs & disabilities cannot scroll with a thumb stick the way you would with a mouse. Frankly this complete change in his the game plays is an absolute insult to everyone who is differently abled. I play console because a controller supports my needs where a PC doesn't as easily. Charging the controls made the game LESS accessable for me. Please revert back to the old controller controls.

Are we going to get a fix to this?! I've only ever played on Playstation and now I am unable to! Why did you not work with a company that specializes in accessible gameplay (like able gamers) before just changing your controls?

I am beyond angry because when I started experiencing these issues I thought the I issue was with my xbox. I was so frustrated that I wanted to buy a new xbox just to play the game in peace. I played sims using a mouse and keyboard instead of the controller because I just preferred it. But now I am unable to use my mouse at all during gameplay and building and had to adjust to using my xbox controller which I admit wasn't as hard as I thought it was until certain things started happening such as the game freezing on me. I also find it impossible to resize objects and scroll through the build/buy catalogue.

I've given up. I don't play anymore. Over €500 of game and expansion packs down the drain

Please fix this. It is unplayable and I love this game. Can we have the option for the old way or the new way? Maybe in the setting menu controller options and we can choose. I loved how the L1 R1 keys was used to move between categories it made building do quick.

I myself play on xbox FIX THE CONSOL LAG!!!!!!!!! As a customer who has played sims for years spend thousands on sims games both pc and colsol im discusted in the lack of care from the EA team. Ive grown up with this game and i just wanna build my houses and play sims without the the actual game slowing down. there is nothing wrong with my xbox its clean wll taken care of barely anything on it and sims lags. As a million dollar company i expect more from you. i as well as thousands of other players can barely play the game we spent hard earned money on for you to just go opp and change the controls instead of fixing the real problems. get your act together and listen to your customers!!!!!

Hello Sims team. I am a xbox one player and I own every pack you guys have released. I have been a fan of the series going back to its birth. I was really enjoying the game i spent over 1000 dollars for until you guys "FIXED" the controls in build mode... It is darn near impossible to use this new set up, can we please have an option to turn it back to the way it was before this "FIX".... I love the sims 4, and use to enjoy building...it is now frustrating and hard to do .

Please, please revert the controls. I tried to play the game today to see if I could get used to the controls - I used to build to unwind from a stressful day. All I wanted to do was move one item in build mode. One. And I couldn’t at all, despite my repeated attempts to toggle the cursor. The controls were fine before, I can’t do anything in build mode now. 

Respectfully so I've spent thousands of dollars for years now,  not for you to improve it like many commenters have said. We want the prior controls/panels back. The fact that this has caused struggle to disabled gamers is beyond astounding. PC controls do not belong amywhere near console. They funcrion different for a reason. Since january I've expiernced more lag,  more game crashes,  more glithces,  lack of tool usage in build buy,  literally button keys getting mixed. I shouldnt be pressing triangle and having an object rotate,  it should bring the eyedrop tool up like its supposed to. Shoot sometimes I cant rotate an object at all until I force quit. Builds that would normally take me 3 hours can take me up to days to finish because of this update. Ive been building for a good while too. People have spent way too much money on this game for it to be "improved" it was fine as it was. Nevermind the fact that when this update was release my entire and I mean ENTIRE gallery was deleted. YEARS of sims YEARS of builds hours and HOURS of time wasted. We don't have the same advantaged as PC users do. They don't like something they just mod the hell out of the game. Its hard for us to even have back files so when its gone its gone. Theres no replacing it. Please actually listen to us. You're making the game unplayable for a vast majoity of the community. Its incredibly upsetting from a console players POV.

I just bought the new pack of games I wanted to play but it bugs everywhere frankly I would not buy a pack if it is not to be able to play...

I tried using lots from my library yesterday to cut down on work but even that is bugged and causes freezing and crashing. I can't place gallery lots either because of error codes. I can only place a room I've designed and saved, but nothing bigger. So I have to build from scratch. I was really looking forward to building a retail lot yesterday, I had it all figured out. It was horrible. Nothing worked. The Undo/Search problem is so random, sometimes it doesn't happen for the first hour but yesterday it was every single time. Added to that, the build mode music is even bugged. Songs are on repeat after the GRO update and sometimes there's silence. All of these are separate problems I know, but you can see how it all adds up to a miserable experience on console.

I feel very unsupported as a console customer. Issues stay unresolved and there is next to no help from devs with these technical problems. A promise to improve the console experience led to chaos and there is only one reason for that.. no dialogue, no engagement. We would happily provide the insight to fix the console experience, in fact we already have done. We're doing that right now. But it's all totally one sided. I speak to PC players who give me great ideas but I'm like a broken record replying to them "I get a bug when I do that" or "that's broken on console". Some have been kind enough to offer things they've built to help me but I can't even do that because of bugs.

This is the first Easter in a while that I haven't added some new DLC.

can you just revert the controls? none of it's intuitive and i get that you wanted it "more in line with the pc version" or whatever, but that doesn't work when console players don't use a mouse or keyboard. it was 10x more "intuitive" before anyone touched the controls. the game has a million bugs - focus on those, just bring the controls back so people can at least try and build.

Pleaseeeeeee please I beg you fix the lag in build, cas and live mode 😭😭😭😭I cant take it anymore I am so upset pc and mac players are always favourited over console players, WE GET NOTHING.

Because of how this game is for the PS4, there's a higher chance it's buggy just on ps5. PlayStation has already noted that all PS4 games are playable on the ps5, but not all of them will be solid (aka have bugs, not work as well).

So I'm certain that the ps5 version needs an update. All of the bugs I experience impact the gameplay too much. Like if I click on a bed, a dog bowl, or anything else to interact it with, the cursor goes way too fast so that it's hard to select a specific command bubble. I spend about a minute or more just to try and select the command I want.

Also I have problems with the cursor when in build mode. Not all the time but it's a high chance that I can't press the touch pad to switch cursor options. The game gets stuck on the one where you can't roam freely on the screen. So I have to back out of build mode, then back on to fix it.

Since the recent update (27/4/23) my game has been buggy to the point where it also interrupts my experience. First of all I noticed items disappearing out of know where, now NPC's going missing too. This 'going missing' isn't anything you'd think is normal. They in fact disappear so that they are completely invisible. When I pan back onto them, the screen takes me to a place where Sims cannot get access to (sewer). I'm not too sure on why this happens, but I do know that these problems occur in rooms for infants. Not sure on newborns and toddlers though. The others are objects and furniture. The cot went and the toys (except the building blocks) too. They weren't anywhere on the lot, in no one's inventory, even the houses.

Father winter also came to the house when there was no fireplace. He got stuck (stayed in the house for around 8+ hours). I had to put a fireplace down just so he'd leave.

Lastly, I'd really appreciate it if we could get an English version of the game. Words like brassiere, diaper, refrigerator, etc are very American. I don't want it to interrupt my language and it'd be easier to search for items that way as well. | Also please title your English as 'American English' or add the English flag next to the American one.

The cursor problems and vanishing items have been reported by many of us on all consoles. The tipping point was patch 1.69. Feedback is being collated on this thread and although we haven't had any timeline or engagement, what little we do know is that fixes in some form will happen at some point. It's all a bit vague so far. So...bit of a frustrated console community unfortunately. 😔

Apparently they are currently working on changing the control schemes but it will take time. 

@ShopGirl98 Thanks for the update. It shouldn't have taken this long for a response. I hope that they provide an option for the new controls and old controls to satisfy all players The team definitely could improve in addressing concerns of us console players.

You guys can push out kits basically every month yet it takes you this long to fix the console controls? What’s taking so long!!!

Who else just doesn’t want to play the sims 4 anymore? 😑 this is literally so frustrating my game keeps resetting. I don’t even know what is happening anymore. I thought this was supposed to be a big year for the sims 4 they hyped us up with the behind the sims summit and now the game just feels broken 

At this point, I have already moved on to other games. I wish they were more transparent and communicative with us console players. It feels like we are an afterthought. So disappointing and disheartening really..😔

This feedback thing is 72 pages long. It's quite clear that the whole console game is broken. Think about it, EA. We paid for the game and you did this. Why?

We need the old controls back. And all other problems fixed. Quite many console players have adressed here before me what those bugs are.

My English skills aren't enough to give clear feedback but I am sure you've already gotten enough of it to make the game work on console. 

Now it's your chance to show us that you care about the gaming experience of console players, too. Thank you. 

And yes, fixing takes time. But as someone already said here it's not too much to ask you to keep us up-to-date.
