You can use it to enter cheats but that's it so far. I have no idea if there are future plans to have full keyboard / mouse support.

Keyboard and mouse use is not supported on The Sims 4 for Xbox and PlayStation right now. I don't have information for you regarding the future, but what I can do is forward your feedback to the team so they are aware of your interest.
Are you finding the game difficult to control with a controller in any particular game mode?

- Please add mouse and keyboard support... Controls sometimes are frustrating ...
- I totally agree with quiverdin! De controls aren't terrible, but at least a mouse would make it so much easier :-)
- I was really happy when I heard the Sims 4 was coming to console, but the fact that it doesn't have mouse and keyboard support is one thing that prevented me from buying it. Then I heard a lot of complains about how hard it is to control it and I've desided not to buy the game until we get mouse and keyboard support.
- The controls have frustrated me so much that I've put the game and haven't played it since around launch on the Xbox One -_- Frustrated that I spent so much money on it. Keyboard and mouse support would make a big difference please add it, the Xbox One is more than capable of it.
- I brought sims for originally for my iMac and it didn’t support so therefore had to use ps4 very disspointed with the DualShock control, it’s not terrible but a mouse would be a lot easier when trying to select mutipul tasks, I’ve been a sims player since 2000 in the PS2, I only play in occaisly due to the issue i defiantly purschase expansion packs/ if I could play the game regularly.
Please, please, PLEASE add mouse support! I think that the controls for the xbox is the best that they can be, but even so, they are a bit awkward. If you added mouse support it would be so much easier.

- Another request to please, please, please patch in mouse and keyboard support. The controller controllers can be extremely finicky and at times impossible to get them to do what you need.
- I just got the game for the PS4 and tried to start it but it's SO difficult to control. I haven't played sims on console since the PS2, but I found those games quite quick to master controls wise. I'll still try and play the game but it's such a turn off because it takes so much time to do anything with. I'd love to use a mouse at least. The menus are just too complex for a controller. So disappointing because the game looks so good!
- They BETTER add it if they expect to get console players in the long run. I can't count the number of PC players who stream on Twitch who LAUGH (some even SCOFF) at the idea of playing Sims 4 on the console (That's the honest truth)

Beyond that, I'll just add that using the JOYSTICKS on this game (Be it for building or otherwise) is AWKWARD !!!
THE ARROW KEYS would be better than the joysticks. WHY DO YOU THINK that NONE of the sports game developers assign THE MOST IMPORTANT commands to the joysticks??
Then leave them to THINK about the LOGIC behind that..... 🙂 - Simply put - Sims 4 (and a certain other game which EA doesn't publish) are what happens when THE SUITS (I think most people here know what I mean by that) are PUT IN CHARGE of GAME DEVELOPMENT as well as publication >☹️
- It's the same when you try to follow your sim as they walk out the door on their way to work & you want to look in on them as they do their job ??
I DREAD to think what those who've built BUSINESSES for their sims must be going through who play on the console..... - At least YOU HAVE a mouse & keyboard support. We CONSOLE players DO NOT
