Black vertical and horizontal bars on my Sims 4

Hello, recently (after adding different accounts to my mac ( OS X, version 10.9.5) ) my sims 4 loads and plays with horizontal and vertical black lines across the screen that prohibit me from playing the game (screenshots attached). Although, everything else about the game seems to function normally.

Previously the game worked fine, but now I can't figure out how to remove the lines. Any suggestions? Thank you! 🙂

Things I have already done:

-uninstalled the game

-"repaired" game

-disenabled origin in game
