@S_Bahn_Berlin have you tried ß and the ´ ? That's the keys on PC afaik

I tried, these did not work either.

  I don't know what the equivalent should be on a German keyboard, hopefully someone may be able to help with that who is using one but in the meantime can you enable a US or UK keyboard in System Preferences > Keyboard > Input Sources? You'd only need to switch to it while you play the game and can add the shortcut to switch in the menu bar.
