Game fails to launch on Mac

Hey, so I just got a new computer, it runs on Sonoma 14.5. I installed the EA App and my Sims 4 as always, which is that the game itself is installed on an external drive due to limited space on Mac (I had it this way on my previous Mac and it worked without any issues on Origin). Now I did the same and everything is installed correctly but as soon as I try to play, I get the pop-up "game failed to launch, it's a problem on our end, please try again later". I've tried for 3 days now, repaired the game, repaired EA app, everything. I can't remove the folder from the documents because I don't have one - assuming the system didn't automatically create it since the game wasn't launched even once on this computer. I'm literally running out of ideas

What format is your external drive?

Is your external drive of sufficiently high quality and speed to successfully read/write all the data required to launch and run the game?

Have you checked EA App and the game have all required permissions in System Settings > Privacy & Security?

I have a Seagate Expansion HDD with 1TB of space, it's an external hard drive. I've had TS4 on it from the beginning on my previous Mac and it was running perfectly, no issues. There is definitely enough space on it since I barely have anything on that drive apart from the game. I have checked and EA App has all the permissions in Privacy&Security

What permissions does it have? It needs to be Full Disk Access.

Do you have around 25GB free on the internal drive? It would be good to change the install location in EA App to the Applications folder and download just the base game and see if you get the same error message.

I just upgraded my Macbook this week and I'm having the exact same issue. The one time I didn't get that message, I got stuck in an endless loop of verifying my game.
