You can upgrade the RAM yourself or get someone to do it for you. They won't do it in the Apple store though. You need to go to an Apple Authorised Service Centre or Apple Premium Reseller. It's very easy to do yourself, you just need the right fit screwdriver for the screws on the bottom casing and the RAM. You must be careful doing it though. You can buy the RAM on Amazon. I always use Kingston RAM, it's never let me down.
When you take the bottom casing off you could blow out any dust and fluff (there will be some) using compressed air.
