Can you save expansion packs on an external hard drive

I have a MacBook Air and I want to buy expansion and game packs but I don't have enough space on my computer so would I be able to buy an external hard drive and just save the expansion and game pack...

No but you can move your entire installed game to an external. If you are running Catalina make sure to allow access for Origin to the external drive when prompted during these steps:

- Drag the game from your Applications folder to the external
- Open Origin then go to Preferences > Installs & Saves
- Change the location of the game library location to your external

No problem with the two first things. But I cant find the external drive when I try to change the path.
The external drive is in Finder.
What to do?
