Can you use the same code twice on for different devices?

I got Sims4 a while back and used the code to get it on my 2012 Mac, I recently got a 2017 Mac, and wanted to use the same code to download it onto my new Mac. But its not letting me use the same cod...

Can you log into Origin using the same account details you used to originally purchase the game? Then navigate to your Games Library and download Sims 4 from there.
