Can't install the game! (setLocale.zsh error)

I have the same problem on a MacBook Pro

Details:

(Retina, 15-inch, Early 2013)

Processor: 

2.7 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7

Memory:

16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3

Startup Disk: 

Macintosh HD

Graphics: 

NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M 1 GB

Intel HD Graphics 4000 1536 MB

w/ 138GB available of 500GB

Note the error is:

"Error: A redistributable package (setLocale.zsh) was not installed successfully.  Setup cannot continue. ⚽"

@sumikograpes and @feifeifeicarryon , I'm sorry you're seeing this error! Does the game itself play OK for you despite the error?

Also, can you tell me more about your environment? What version of macOS are you using? Do you know if you're using the Legacy Edition of The Sims 4?

Hi there, 

I'm using MacOS Catalina 10.15.4 (19E287). 

I'm trying to instal The Sims 4 Digital Deluxe. 

I cannot play as the game will not finalize installation. 

I've attached a screenshot. When I click on the game in Origin, there is an orange button that says Install. Underneath a down arrow with "New add on content ready for install". When I click install or the download button, it will show "Finalizing" with a progress bar, then I get the error message pop up. Then it moves the game back in to the download manager where it says the game is Complete (w/ orange #1 in a circle), however there is still the download (or X) button. And no way that I can see to start playing the game. Sometimes the Soundtrack will also pop up in the download manager. 

I've tried force quitting Origin, restarting my computer & re-opening but I still get the same error message.

I met exactly the same problem with you.

I have also tried to change the privacy settings in "users &groups" but still no use.

I have also checked my g++ version..

@feifeifeicarryon First, can you try a thing for me? In Terminal run this command (make sure you copy/paste the command to be sure it's exactly what is typed here):

ls -l ~/Applications/The\ Sims\ 4.app/Contents/__Installer/customcomponent/*

Please copy/paste the output of these commands here.

Added text to terminal. Re-opened Origin, Downloader Shows as Verifying Game Files, After Finalizing completes, error message pops up.

Am I supposed to have the Legacy Edition maybe? System requirements For Sims4 seem to work with my laptop but maybe this trouble means I need Legacy?
