can't open sims 4 due to error

I updated my game earlier on, when I tried to open it, it came up with an error to check my mods or repair the game. I tried to delete the mods (all hair and clothing) and my Mac came up with an error that said "The Finder can’t complete the operation because some data in “Twistedcat_Stella_Hair.package” can’t be read or written. (Error code -36)". 

I then repaired the game to see if that would make any difference but still coming up with the same error.  I've tried to delete the mods folder and the localthumbcache as I've seen posted on here but both times came up with the same message as above. 

any tips would be appreciated
