CC and MODS

I was having issues with my Sims 4 loading when the new IOS update happened in October last year and trying to figure it out I moved the Electronics Art file away from the Sims 4. Having fixed this IOS issue another way I am now struggling to get CC and MODS in my game as the folders are not together. Does anyone know of a way to almost reset this so that all files are where they are supposed to be and I am able to use CC and mods that I have downloaded? Thank you in advance!

Thats what I meant, my apologies!! I have a folder called 'sims 4' and my saved loads are within there and the Electronic art folder is in there, when everywhere I am reading I think its meant to be the Electronic art then the sims four folder?

Yes 🙂 Let's check the exact location. Please could you click on your saves folder once to select it then go to File > Get Info. Under the General > Where section near the top of the info window please copy and paste the location of your saves folder here.

Perfect 🙂 The Sims 4 folder should be in Documents > Electronic Arts. There's probably already a folder there, if so move your saves over from the location in your screenshot to Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 > saves.

I have tried this but my Electronic arts folder is on its own away from the sims 4 folder, this is all I have within my Electronic arts folder. Would it work if I just drag my sims 4 folder into the electronics art folder? thank you for answering and helping me!

That is not the right location. Out of interest, how did you find that folder? The file path is Users > User > Library > Application Support > Electronic Arts right? Did you follow instructions from somewhere else or just search for it? I've seen a few posts now where users have mistakenly thought that is the Sims 4 user data folder.

When you first launch the game an Electronic Arts folder is created in the Users > User > Documents folder, if there is not already one there. It then creates a The Sims 4 folder within the Electronic Arts folder. So the correct path for this Sims 4 folder, otherwise known as the user data folder, is Users > User > Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4. This is where your saves/Mods/Tray and other user specific data is stored like in-game options, screenshots etc.

I am not sure how exactly it happened, but I know when I had the issue with Sims4 in October I may have moved folders around and its been like that since. Is there any way I can get it back to its original structure? I do not mind losing my saved files/games but obviously I have expansion packs etc, which I would obviously want to keep. The screenshot attached is my Sims4 file where you would find all the things you explained within, but the two files are not connected and are actually separate. Any advice?

It looks like you may have really muddled up the folders! Let's start again.

Start with moving the Electronic Arts folder in your Documents folder to the desktop. Then repair your game in Origin. Then launch the game to recreate new Electronic Arts and Sims 4 folders in the Documents folder. The file path must be Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4. The contents of the Sims 4 folder should look like this after launching your game and enabling CC/Mods in the in-game options:
