Also, if that's your cat in the picture, (s)he's beautiful. I used to have one that looked similar but he passed a few years ago of old age.
Thanks again for the help!
@ninjakitty1396 Running a newer OS would probably help with Origin, although some Mac users with newer operating systems are also unable to login (likely a separate issue, or issues) and haven't been able to fix the problem with the legacy version of Origin.
It would probably not be necessary to update to Mojave, and some older computers can't even run it, or else they technically can but run it only slowly. El Capitan (the next one after Yosemite) should be fine though. If you want an opinion on how your computer might be expected to handle an OS upgrade, please post your specs, as described here:
Eventually, EA may fix Origin so that it runs on Yosemite (or maybe not, who knows), in which case it wouldn't be necessary to update, at least until the next problem. Sims 4 itself runs fine on Yosemite, but of course you need Origin to launch it.
And thanks for the kind words about my cat. I think he's beautiful too. Unfortunately, every time I tell him that, he gives me a stony glare and then walks away. I'm sorry you lost yours, but it sounds like you at least had a lot of quailty time together.
